5 Twitter Hashtag Tracking and Analytics tools

AppId is over the quota
AppId is over the quota

#Hashtags, #Hashtags everywhere! The world went berserk since Twitter’s Hashtags were introduced back in 2009. The world was so serious about it to the extent that Hashtag was the ‘Word of the year‘, even Facebook announced Hashtags recently in June 2013 and also there was a baby named ‘Hashtag’!

You can go on and say a lot against Hashtags and their importance, but their value is unquestionable in this world that is insanely connected. The internet is made up of long and short messages delivered online and Hashtags provide with a way of grouping such messages, where one can search for a hashtag and get the set of messages that contain in it.

Quoting Wikipedia:

The first use of the term “hash tag” was in a blog post by Stowe Boyd, “Hash Tags = Twitter Groupings,” on 26 August 2007, according to lexicographer Ben Zimmer, chair of the American Dialect Society’s New Words Committee.

Hashtags are not much different to the ‘keywords for finding information’. The way that hashtags makes communications filterable and organized could be put to great use for getting feedback and suggestions. All that can be said is that hashtags are way beyond powerful and to manage them, you need tools. Tools are power in your hands and there are many powerful tools to effectively manage hashtags and make the most of them.

Below are 5 of the best Twitter hashtag tracking and analytics tools that will help you to get the most out of Twitter.

My Year Long Experience Of Siteground Webhost

AppId is over the quota
AppId is over the quota
It has become a daunting task for people to choose the right webhost and get their things online. We as bloggers, developers, and no matter what profession we might be in at one time stumble over the right hosting provider. Other than if you might be using free services for hosting,  like the WordPress.com service, you’ll need a good and reliable hosting provider to get your site up and running. I have managed to find mine for the time being – Siteground Webhost.

It had become infinitesimally difficult to find a good and perfect review of your potential webhost. The Web nowadays is inundated with a big load of misdirected reviews. The reviews of Web hosting services these days basically fall into these two categories : 1) anecdotal experiences and 2) spammers working their way to get a bigger paycheck by tricking innocent people to pay for lousy services.

Enough about the present state of conditions and let’s get to the point. This article is primarily supposed to be my experience with Siteground Webhost for over an year. This comes after Infworm(My publishing website), being online since two years. It has been over a year since I started using their services for my website and I admit that I am more than satisfied.

You might hit on me now saying that how come this cannot be an anecdotal experience? Let me get to that point., now that you’ve gotten a basic idea about what this is all about, it’s time that I back my statements with valid and useful statistics and events.

Siteground hosting review My Year Long Experience Of Siteground Webhost

I used to run on a different webhost prior to shifting base to siteground, but that’s an altogether different issue I wouldn’t like to get into. However I would like to clarify that the previous webhost was fair, only that we couldn’t fall in place with the terms. You must note that I am in no way a Siteground employee/ Promoter/ Affiliate and all this is me sharing my experience with the webhost for your better.

Let’s get started with the plans and pricing. Just as many other webhosts, Siteground too offers a myriad of options to get you the best that suits you as per your budget.

Siteground pricing review My Year Long Experience Of Siteground Webhost

Shared

Siteground offers a great shared hosting service. Siteground offers three categories for your choice under shared webhosting. Don’t be amused by the plans’ names,Siteground assigns those so they look less dreadful.

StartUp

This plan has everything that should basically get you started. I haven’t had much hands-on experience with this plan by Siteground, but I bet it would handle a decent new website/blog or e-commerce site. This plan should accommodate a “getting started” website or an average-size blog, or business website. More than 10,000 unique visits per month on a regular basis and you would outgrow this plan.

Price: $3.95/mo.60% OFF the regular $9.95/mo. (Only the first billing on a three month cycle would be charged $3.95/mo, the next time onwards its regular $9.95/mo)

GrowBig

This plan is crafted for Growing websites. Monthly visits of more than 25,000 should see you outgrow this plan. According to Siteground, this plan is basically designed to accommodate either a single more heavily-trafficked website or multiple average-sized websites.

Price: $7.95/mo.60% OFF the regular $14.95/mo. (Only the first billing on a three month cycle would be charged $7.95/mo, the next time onwards its regular $14.95/mo)

GoGeek

This is by far the best Shared hosting plan from Siteground and the one I started with them, and outgrew later moving on to cloud hosting. For a really heavily-visited or resource-intensive website  the GoGeek plan would be your best option. GoGeek plan is also good for average-sized E-commerce websites as i handles a decent product line. You will most probably outgrow this plan if you start attracting more than 100,000 unique visits per month on a regular basis.

Price: $14.95/mo.60% OFF the regular $29.95/mo. (Only the first billing on a three month cycle would be charged $14.95/mo, the next time onwards its regular $29.95/mo)

Dedicated

Siteground manages its dedicated hosting with servers in USA (Chicago), Europe (Amsterdam) and Asia-Pacific (Singapore). Siteground also provides with the option of performance boosters for scripts like Joomla, WordPress, Magneto and a general booster for a price of additional $50/mo.

Entry Server

This is an entry level dedicated hosting service. I haven’t had much experience with this plan, so I better remain silent here. The information could be found below.

Price: $229.00/mo

For your Information:

Intel i3-540 3.06GHz CPU3.06Ghz CPU Clock SpeedDual-core (2) CPU Cores4MB CPU Cache4GB DDR3 RAM500GB SATA II HDD HDD5TB Bandwidth

Power Server

The same goes with Power server dedicated hosting. I haven’t yet got my hands on this plan. You could tell the difference in the specsheet.

Price: $329.00/mo

Intel Xeon E3-1230 CPU3.20Ghz CPU Clock SpeedQuad-core (4) CPU Cores8MB CPU Cache12GB DDR3 RAM1TB SATA II HDD5TB Bandwidth

Enterprise Server

The Enterprise server is by far the best that Siteground could possibly provide you for your site. The jaw-dropping specs of the servers you can see below would almost manage any of the high traffic websites out there.

Price: $429.00/mo

Intel Xeon E5-2620 CPU2.00Ghz CPU Clock SpeedHexa-core (6) CPU Cores15MB CPU Cache16GB DDR3 RAM4x500GB SATA II / RAID 10 HDD5TB Bandwidth

Cloud

I have outgrown my shared hosting with them and so I went for their Cloud hosting. Siteground offers 4 Cloud hosting options, all of them just differing in a little specs that go a long way. Apart from that, the basic configurations of the cloud hosting are:

Operating System: CentOSApache Web ServerExim Mail ServerDNS Server SetupIP Tables Firewall Setup7 PHP Versions: v5.5, v5.4, v.5.3, etc.Database MySQL5 & PostgreSQLCloud 1

2x 2.0GHz CPU1024MB DDR3 RAM40GB Disk Space1 TB Bandwidth

Price: $68.95/mo. Regular Price $78.95/mo.

Cloud 2

2x 2.0GHz CPU1512MB DDR3 RAM60GB Disk Space2 TB Bandwidth

Price: $88.95/mo. Regular Price $98.95/mo

Cloud 3

4x 2.0GHz CPU2048MB DDR3 RAM80GB Disk Space4 TB Bandwidth

Price: $108.95/mo. Regular Price $118.95/mo

Cloud 4

4x 2.0GHz CPU4096MB DDR3 RAM150GB Disk Space5TB BandwidthPrice: $138.95/mo. Regular Price $148.95/mo

I wouldn’t say this is the best of all webhosting providers, but I can definitely say that this is the best I have laid my hands on. The site has been uptime and accessible always and it has never went down, as far as I remember. The only problem I have once faced was for a nightly update of their servers and there was a downtime for a mere few minutes.

The servers are always live and you could choose your server locations for all the plans as per the requirements of your website demand. You could choose them to be at Chicago for more West users, Amsterdam for more Europe users and Singapore for a more Asia based traffic.

The good accessibility and uptime feature is backed up with a very strong technical team that has your back covered for the worst-case scenario.

Technical support

Your only good bet of backup while facing some technical problems with your is your hosting provider. Siteground provides with a Live Chat categorized into Pre-sales, Technical and Billing issues. I have spent hours with the technical support guys [and gals icon smile My Year Long Experience Of Siteground Webhost ] at Siteground Live chat, and what I can assure you, you’ll definitely come out of your technical problems after a chat with them.

The technical area is too deep and there’s always something new to learn and these technical support people have helped me numerous times for my technical doubts. Although I consider myself as technically sound, and don’t prefer technical assistance, I just check them out too during issues for some unexpected easier solution.

Is Siteground Worth your money?

I have tried to be fair and true with this review. And if all of this still sound like I’m promoting my heart out that’s just because of the love I have for Siteround people who work and keep my site live. The technical support is arguably one of the best things Siteground has to offer, and that makes everything easier from pre-sales to resolving technical issues.. I am a satisfied and happy Siteground customer and would like you to check them out if you ever plan on starting up or shifting base.

Are you an existing Siteground user like me? I would love to know your review and feedback about their hosting quality. If you find this Siteground review useful, do consider sharing it on Facebook and Google plus.

How Much Money One Can Earn From Google AdSense

AppId is over the quota
AppId is over the quota

Making money from a blog is a lucrative proposition, and AdSense is one of the top choice for bloggers to monetize their blog. Even though Affiliate marketing or CPA marketing pays more than AdSense, but Adsense ads gives a sense of peace of mind, and more over adds into recurring income. If I have to put it in a simple way, AdSense works as a saving account where you will be paid mostly on a fixed interest rate, and affiliate marketing works as a mutual fund investment, where income can fluctuate but always higher than AdSense.

Anyways, this post is not about which one is better, but here I’m answering one of the most asked question to me regarding AdSense. Recently I was giving a Workshop at Hosting summit, and after summit someone asked me about how much money she can make from her image based website or other lucrative and easy to use niche for AdSense. And couple of days back, one of the Shouter Shubhan asked how much money he can earn from AdSense on his blog. Here is the Email from Shubhan:

Earn from Adsense How Much Money One Can Earn From Google AdSense

Let me start with Answering Shubhan first question:

Shubhan your blog is professionally designed, and it looks great. Your content are original and adds value. You are using BlogSpot platform, but that should not be a problem. Since you are using a custom domain, I recommend you to get Custom domain Email address using Outlook, and apply using it.  Check out his blog design, which is on BlogSpot and looks so professional.

Android AdSense blog How Much Money One Can Earn From Google AdSense

Coming back to second question ” How much I will earn from AdSense”, which is one of the most frequently asked question by other Shouters. When I was new to AdSense, even I had the same question. I heard so many stories about people making $50/click or making thousands of $ via AdSense every month, I always wondered if I can make the same money from AdSense. To be honest, I never made that amount of money like other AdSense ninjas, and I will explain the reason below.

To disappoint you, there is no easy or sure-shot way to calculate your future AdSense earning, as you can’t predict how much money you will make per click. AdSense income depends on various factors, and here are some of the most common factors which adds into more AdSense earning.

Topic of your Blog:

Lets start with the basics of AdSense. Google AdSense works on the basis of AdWords, where Advertisers bids on Keywords, and thus Ads are displayed on 3rd party Websites like yours and mine using AdSense. Now, with time Advertisers are becoming smarter, and they bid more on long-tail Keywords, as this converts better. Along with this, there is a concept of high-paying and low-paying niches.

For ex: Niche like health, Loan, Attorney have high CPC (Cost per click), and other niche like (Movies, posters) are considered as low paying niche. Technology niche on other hand is quite moderate AdSense niche, and income per click depends on various factors, which I have mentioned below.

Your traffic demographic:

AdSense income also depends upon the country which is sending you more traffic. For example, if your blog is getting more traffic from countries like U.S.A., you are more likely to earn more from per click on your AdSense ads. Where as if you are getting more traffic from developing nation like India, Nepal, you are likely to earn less/click (Mostly in pennies), and this difference is due to difference in average purchasing power of these nations.

Other common factors:

Above two are the most influential factor for AdSense earning. After this other factors like your Ad placement, ad blending, type of Ads (Image or Text or both), also adds a lot into it. These factors can easily be optimized by strategically implementing AdSense ads on your blog (Above the fold, and blend it smartly), and for other factors, you need to work on before you launch your blog.

Well, many of us create Blog just to earn from AdSense (Nothing wrong with it), but people usually give up on it soon, as this doesn’t keep them glued for long. More over, without complete domain knowledge, quality of site goes down with time, and it doesn’t work on long run. In my recent guide on How I created AdSense blog with less effort, I explained how to create quality AdSense blog. (A strategy that you can easily copy).

So next time if you have doubt related to how much you can earn from AdSense ads, ask yourself what niche and what kind of traffic you are going to get on your blog. None the less, check out this guide on finding high CPC AdSense keyword in most convenient way.

3 Best Websites To Check If A WebSite Is Down Or Not

AppId is over the quota
AppId is over the quota

Massive social media migrations occur at times when popular services go down. Say for instance, Facebook is down, so everyone goes flocking to Twitter to post updates such as “Is Facebook down for me?”, “Anyone else having troubles with Facebook?”, etc. This causes a massive traffic spike in other networks. Although it won’t definitely be the same if Twitter went down.

What if you need a simple answer to: “Is this site down for me or everyone?”. You need not pounce on different social media sites for getting your answer. Thankfully, there happen to be a few great services on the web that are present just to provide with the exact answer to your query. These websites are the no nonsense types and just do what they are meant for, nothing more, nothing less. The beauty of these services is that they care about their purpose instead of cramming up more and more features.

Below is a list of the 3 best websites to check if a website is down or not.

Visit Website

downforeveryoneorjustme 3 Best Websites To Check If A WebSite Is Down Or Not

Down for everyone or just me, oh and by the way you don’t have to type in the entire domain name every time, actually you could also use their short URL at IsUp.me. This is a text-based website that will simply tell you if a website is down or not.

All you are required to is to enter the domain name in the text-box, click the hyper-linked “or just me“ part and then it will answer the question for you in a very easy-to-use format. I’m not quite sure about the funding of this website but it sure does make use of a small advert in its own box and the best thing it is even hard to notice, leave alone disturbing. The site is minimal and takes a minimum of the screen space and yet does your work with grace.

DownRightNow

Visit Website

Down Right Now makes use of user-submitted reports that acts as a catalyst in its effort to find out if the Internet’s top sites are down. Down Right Now is one of those very effective crowd-sourced website. The only thing that this site lacks is an option for entering your own website and check if its down or not. It only checks and makes note of the top social media services if they are up or not.

Down Right Now includes a status history of the service as a graph of its server being uptime or not over a period throughout the day. This site provides with a pretty good information about the services and also the last time they were down in a similar fashion. This lets you get a simple idea of how long more it would be so. A good site if you would like to check out the top dogs of social media if they are down or not, not for personal use.

Is it down right now

Visit Website

The above seen image is a screenshot of Awebber’s service being down for everyone over 3 hours back in August 2012. The screenshot alone speaks for itself, showing how effective its service is. On its homepage you are shown a host of top websites and their status. It also provides a personal search for entering your own websites.

It provides you with useful information like response time(how fast your server responds to the query), when the last time it was down, and a graph of its day-by-day response times.

For all those Android browsers who want to remotely check if a website is down, there’s an app for that! IsDown is an Android app that allows you to make a quick check if a Website is down from your Android device.

Facebook is undoubtedly one of the most popular Website at this moment, and despite of the fact that it usually is very unproductive for me in terms of time-killing, I still love it.  If you have seen the popular movie “The social network”, you must be aware of how Facebook was evolved from a simple site to world’s most popular Social-networking site, and what all Mark Zuckerberg has gone through to reach where his company is at this moment.

Do you know the most popular social networking website “Facebook” derived its name from the informal name for the book given by some American universities to the students at the start of academic session every year? The purpose is same; to help users to know each other and in turn build a network. There are lot of things we know about Facebook yet there are many hidden interesting facts which you would love to know. Here I’m sharing some of those Facebook facts that you would love to share with your Facebook friends.
